About The Sawgrass Rifle Club |
 |
The Sawgrass Rifle Club is a group of dedicated individuals who run a monthly
NRA sanctioned High Power Rifle match at Markham Park in Broward
County Florida. The main purpose of the
club is to run the matches. The annual membership dues are $25, $15 for juniors,
or $35 for a family membership.
The Sawgrass Rifle Club
is also a CMP affiliated club. You can join the
club and shoot a match to meet the requirements for purchasing
a rifle from the CMP. However, we do not hold "Garand Clinics", be
prepared to shoot a match. You
don't need to join the club if your not going to shoot the matches. If you just
want a club membership card to buy items from the CMP, then consider joining the
Garand Collectors Association.
If you wish to join the club, you may print out the club
application form and mail the completed form along with your payment to the
address on the bottom of the form. You are also welcome to join at one of the
matches.
The Sawgrass Rifle Club was started some time in the 1950's. At that time the
matches were held at the Trail Glades range in Miami. In 1985 the club moved to Markham
Park as Trail Glades Range was turned over to private management that didn't
seem to want the club to shoot there. One of the range officers at Markham,
Holden Cris, was instrumental in getting the club to change venues. The club was
incorporated in 1992 as Sawgrass Rifle Club Inc. (FEI Number: 650372288).
