Fourteen shooters attended the John Wiles Memorial XTC Match on Saturday. The weather was great. Stories about John were shared before the match began. Bob Harrison brought donuts to get our heart rates racing for offhand. We filled the line and were able to run one relay and the match was finished at 10:45a.
The match winner was Alan Summers with 786-28X. He had a nice one hole clean group at slow prone. First Place Master was Randy Hatheway using a match rifle with match irons. His score was 783-35X. Second place Master was David Saez with a 776-24X. Top Expert was sling maker Eric Hollis, who put up a score of 717-13X. Eric brought some slings made in the Les Tam style that were purchased by some of the club members. Top service rifle using irons was Lake Yoke with a score of 769-21X. Special mention goes to Angel Gomez who shot the match without a spotting scope since his was broken.
Thanks to Liz for helping with calling the line in rapids and other behind the scenes support work. Her help makes the match run a lot smoother for the club President. Special thanks to others who keep the club running: Tim Somerville, Treasurer; Rick Cassara, Secretary and score submissions; and Nick Bethmann keeps the club website updated.
The next match is a 500 Point on May 5.
